My coaching and counselling approach to Individual and Group development is informed by the following Frameworks & Principles within the context of the client’s situation:
Resolve ambivalence to elicit behaviour change
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy:
To solve current problems and change unhelpful thinking and behaviour
Centres people as the expert of their lives
Solution Focussed Based Therapy:
Based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. It explores current resources and future hopes rather than present problems and past causes.
Based on the idea that it is best to experience what we feel “here and now” and not keep thinking about the past or worry about the future. The goal is to help clients become aware of his or her thoughts, behaviours, experiences, and feelings and to “own” or take responsibility for them.
Understanding the three parts or ‘ego-states’ to our ‘personality i.e. parent, adult and child. Through our interactions and relationships, we transact with one another through our ego states.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy:
Accept what is out of your personal control, and commit to action that improves and enriches your life.
Dialectic Behaviour Therapy:
A Socratic technique of exposing false beliefs and eliciting truth, through discussion and reasoning by dialogue.
Bringing awareness to your ‘here-and-now’ experience with receptiveness, interest and openness.
